Top 10 Entertainment Stories from The Annapolis Crabwrapper: 10. Renaissance Festival looking to move.
The Maryland Renaissance Festival, a fixture in Crownsville for 24 years, is looking for new digs.
The festival, which features a recreation of a 16th century English village known as Revel Grove, has outgrown its 135-acre site. It draws about 280,000 visitors a year during its 19-day run on weekends from August to October.
While it is not certain the festival will move - and it will return to Crownsville this year - owners of the event are looking for about 200 acres in central Maryland.
County officials winced at talk of relocating the fair and the $19 million it generates for the local economy. They have vowed to do all they can to keep it here.www.hometownannapolis.com/cgi-bin/read/2009/01_02-05/ENT
