Went to RenStock yesterday near Warwick, Maryland. The event was on a high bluff overlooking the Sassafras River with plenty of trees for shade... which was definitely needed since the temperature hit a 100 degrees F. The idea was to camp in garb and do things with a Renaissance flavor. Although about 50 people had indicated they would be attending, a mere handful showed up. The lucky ones had RVs with generator powered air conditioning. I attended just for the day, bringing the Renaissance Bubble Machine and the 41" radio controlled pirate ship. Did I mention it was hot? It was so hot that the dragon kite stayed in his lair and refused to come out to play. However, because of the humidity, the bubble machine made copious amounts of bubbles which lasted quite a while. Later in the day we went down to the river and sailed the pirate ship. Unfortunately, it was low tide and the 10" weighted dagger keel kept getting stuck in the mud. There were plenty of nipperkins in the water more then happy to assist in ungrounding the vessel. I left around 5 of the clock as the heat was taking its toll on me. It was however, a most wondrous day with most wondrous people.
