I heard that some one from Fight School (remember, this is what I was TOLD, I did NOT witness this so I have NO idea what really happened) told the gentleman that typically does a decent Jack Sparrow that he was in copyright infringement. (not that Jack Sparrow is decent but you know what I meant) Of course, Jack isn't in copyright infringement. If he was, they wouldn't make the pattern for his outfit in Simplicity or McCalls. :-) That and he doesn't accept money from people that want to take his picture.
I'm just curious is anyone knows what happened, what was said, and who said what.....

Knowing the Fight School boys, if they were involved, were probably giving the Jack Sparrow (I counted six of them yesterday) a friendly hard-time. More than likely it was drawn out of the non-creative idea of dressing up like the Jack Sparrow character instead of dressing as a bit of a character based on originality instead of mimicking. . . besides, being rogues are part of their characters! I personally plan to give a hard time to all 8,000 Jack Sparrows expected at MDRF for "Adventure Weekend."

Especially with the joke about "copyright infringement" in their show referring to The Princess Bride. Considering how many lines they rip from movies, I doubt they'd seriously say that to someone for doing something similar.

Some of you witnessed that great moment on opening day when I asked one of the sparrow-noids, "OK, I give up. Which one are you supposed to be, George or Ringo?" He had no response to that...

I can say with absolute assurity... the remark was NOT made by me.
I have been saying how much happier I am now that the Jack Sparrow we have been seeing about, finally bought a mug. Granted, he is not a festival paid performer... therefore is not bound by the same rules that we are... but as he is quite visible, (and most patrons would not know that he is not hired by the festival) It just didn't look right to see someone THAT visible drinking from the pepsi cups.
In closing, as long as he is not asking for... or accepting tips from patrons to hae his pic taken... I don't see it as a problem. (Festival Management might see it differently... but I'm not management nor has the topic come up... so I can not answer on their thoughts.)

Interesting, Dash...I asked him a couple of weeks ago if his unusual "Pepsi" grog glass came from Singapore...
Just added the term "Sparrow-noid Schizophrenia" to my faire lexicon over on the R/F site...

Now THAT wouldn't be the case, would it now, Amras? ;D

Whatever gets a faire goer through the day, I guess... Cheers!

Okay... so I'm guilty of having my picture taken with him. He really is a nice guy! I guess he also goes to comic book conventions and stuff too. I knew he wasn't a festival performer, but I always ask random people to pose for pictures if I think their costume is incredible and he does bear a striking resemblence to a particular hot actor that I adore... ;D

Ah, the numerous Jack Sparrows... My dear friend and I have a faire drinking game. One of our favorite rules, drink everytime you see a Jack Sparrow. (or if you're intent on getting trashed, drink twice you spot a particular one for the first time and once everytime you see him subsequently)
