I had no idea that the brewer that gives us all the great brews at The White Hart Tavern we even associated with Budweiser, but apparently A-B owns 49% of the company! I found out listening to the local Delaware radio this morning and found this at the online site of The Baltimore Business Journal: An Annapolis brewer has teamed up with Anheuser-Busch Inc. to buy Old Dominion Brewing Co. of Ashburn, Va., the companies said Friday. Fordham Brewing Co. and minority partner Anheuser-Busch Inc. (NYSE: BUD) have formed a new joint venture, Coastal Brewing Co., to purchase the brewpub operator and brewer that distributes in the mid-Atlantic region. Fordham will have a 51 percent ownership and Anheuser-Busch a 49 percent stake in the partnership. Financial terms were not immediately available. www.bizjournals.com/baltimore/stories/2007/02/26/daily51.html?surround=lfn

Now, as long as Fordham continues to do 100% of the brewing, we'll be alright... If only Schlitz had an interest...
