Last year, Croaker and I (as well as the BlackFox) attend the first Wicked Winter Faire in Edison, NJ, at their Convention Center. It's quite a gathering of folks and vendors. It reminded me more of a "goth/ren marketplace" but call it what you will. It was definitely an interesting event. We're hoping to attend again this year.
This is a "no children under 16" event.
Jeff Mach is the ring master of this endeavor and truly a twisted, err, inspired individual. I've reposted his comments about this year's event.

Dear friends,
This is an odd email for me to write...because, while I obviously dowant all of you to come...I don't want to give you a big sales pitch. Iwant you to check us out and come if it looks like something you'll love.
But at the same time...I am so dang (not the Lt.) excited! Seriously! After thesuccess of last year's faire, we've worked for a year, trying to find ways to make the event better, trying to keep the parts we all loved, trying to straighten out problems, trying to basically make this something you will really want to come back to. (We've also put in a special request for "No Blizzard This Year". ..unlike last year.) And now that it's a month from Faire time, I am...amazingly hyper. I know every promoter says, "This is going to be a great event and I'm excited"...but really. This is going to be a great event!!!! And I am excited!!!
If you haven't checked our site yet, you'll notice that we have a new theme. Oh, yes, we are still a Renaissance Faire... and we're a touchwickeder, too. But...have you noticed how all the Renfaires this year have been on a serious pirate kick? Well, our theory was...imagine a bunch ofscurvey pirates who invade a Renaissance Faire...only to notice that it's-already- been invaded by pirates. What is there for them to do?
..yes, come meet Captain Long John Silver Katana...
Captain Hook-At-The-End-Of-A-Chain.... and, of course.. ...the Dread Ninja Roberts.
....in addition to that:
This year's Wicked Faire features bigger stages, more room, new andreturning vendors, a huge assortment of performers--many who are the same, many who are totally new, more sitting room...and food totally done directly by the Expo Center's caterers. (I, personally, made some dumb mistakes with the food last year, and boy, have I ever worked hard to fix that one!)
We also feature the return of VOLTAIRE of www.voltaire.net <http://www.voltaire.net/> as our headliner! And Daniel Greenwolf--a man who actually went out and entertained patrons in the snow last year--has returned, with a brand new act just for the Wicked Faire! We have over 50 hours of entertainment planned for our 12-hour festival, so bring your time machines.
..plus, the heart of our event: a chance to hang out with a whole hell of a lot of -other- people who are crazy enough to go to a Renaissance Faire in February.
We also proudly announce the debut of the Wicked Awards! Check back at the website a little later in the month to find out the categories! The website is being updated with new performers and new vendors all month, so do feel free to check back often if you'd like to see what's new.
Also, since so many people ended up staying at hotels and paying full price, we had to do something to fix that. The official hotel for this year's event is the Mariott Edison-- <http://www.marriott.com/property/propertypage/EWRED>
Rooms are $79 (a serious discount) if you're with the event, and that ain't bad. You can request the "quiet floor" if you'd like to be with the quieter folks; otherwise, they'll put you in our general room block. Smoking is limited, but they have a nice outdoor grounds...with a gazebo! Call 732-738-1991 and tell them you're with the "Wicked Faire" to get the special rate.
Finally, this year, we have, again, brought you our AMAZING GIFT CERTIFICATE OFFER! And made it a bit sweeter. If you buy your $15 ticket in advance, you get a gift certificate good for $5 off pretty much anything within the Faire--vendors, performer tips, coat check (did I mention we have a coat check this year?), t-shirts, whatever! Considering that most Faires cost $20-$25 to get into, and are often only 8-9 hours... we'd like to feel we're giving you a pretty sweet deal. ADVANCE TICKETS ARE LIMITED, SO PLEASE DO ORDER EARLY IF YOU CAN. Also, last year? Some rather long lines to get in. We have vastly increased our registration staff...but still, pre-ordering your tickets is the quickest way to get in.
Come to the Wicked Faire! Go check out the new site at www.wickedfaire.com <http://www.wickedfaire.com/> , and email me, let me know what you think! As always, we welcome your thoughts, questions, and suggestions! Go forth and buy your tickets...because cheap admissions rule.
Tell your friends about us! Join the livejournal community!
Happy New Year from the Wicked Team!
With respect,
Jeff Mach

P.S. ...Did we mention all the afterparties at the hotel? <
