It happens every year. . . . the message boards die down to a post a week (or there abouts) as folks bustle through their winter. Most folks forget to even check the boards 'till March and we don't really get jumpin' till June.

It's a shame the boards are so slow this time of year. All the chaos of getting ready for the holidays doesn't give me a lot of computer time, although I try to peek in whenever I can. After the holidays are over, life gets back to normal, and there is a lull in the kids extra-curricular activities. As winter settles in, I enjoy catching up on the boards. It makes me want to start garb projects, shop for new accessories, etc. Those plans usually don't come to fruition, but at least they get my brain working and helps to fend off the post holiday, winter blahs.
I hope everyone had a great holiday, and may the New Year find us all where we want to be in life.

There are many things going on for RenFest denizens through March. One wonderful show, starting in MidFebruary, that I would highly recommend is the production of "Six Dead Queens and an Inflatable Henry" at Mobtown Theater in Baltimore (information at www.mobtownplayers.com/Gallery/Season10/Six_Queens.htm.) It would be an excellent way to prepare oneself with the history for next season (1541---Henry is married to Katherine Howard, but all is not as blissful as Henry seems to think...) Anyway, I understand from the director, Erin Riley (a regular Playtron at MDRF) that there is to be a good discount on opening night for all Playtrons that come in garb. Specifically, she says, "Our opening night, 2/15, is going to be MDRF night. $10 tickets to anyone who works at the festival or comes in garb! Very exciting!" I'll post details about this as I find them out myself. The play features several past and present MDRF cast members, including Melissa McGinley (Anne Stanhope Seymour.) Our own King Henry (Fred Nelson) is the sound designer. I plan to be there on opening night.
