Hello Everyone!
This is my first post, but it's a pretty exciting one! I've been a huge fan and patron of the faire for almost a decade now and have just been pointed toward this board by a friend! Now that I'm here, I'm finding it to be one more awesome piece of the MDRF world!
With that said - I'd like to issue a general invitation!
February 15th 2008 is the opening of the US Premiere of an awesome theatre piece - Six Dead Queens... and an Inflatable Henry! It's being performed at The Mobtown Theatre in the Hampden section of Baltimore City from 2/15 - 3/8! Opening night is the official/unofficial MDRF night (official as in come garbed, get a discount on tickets and $1 off alcoholic beverages! Unofficial as in it is not a sanctioned Festival event!)
The show is a bawdy, upbeat and comedic look into what would happen if the Three Catherines, Two Annes and One Jane were stuck together for eternity - fighting one another for the role of the One True Queen.
Many members of the faire community are involved with supporting and creating for the show. Fred Nelson (King Henry the VIII) is doing sound design, Melissa McGinley (Anne Stanhope Seymour) is playing Jane Seymour (imagine that!) and creating fight choreography, Tiger Torre and Amy Thacker (The Evil Kitten and Blue Rosesellers) are working crew, Nicole Mullins (Lady Edgecombe) designed our poster, John Sadowsky (I'm not even going to try to type his character's name other than Ambassador of Cleves) has been a huge supporter and Virginia Weeks (formerly of The Bloody Drama) is playing Catherine of Aragon!
We would love to see you all at the theatre, and especially in garb! We have this little dream, you see, of our 68 seat theatre being totally inhabited by people with the same love for the Tudor Period in history that we have!
If you're interested in coming to opening night, right now, we have about 20 tickets left! Please feel free to visit our websites www.sixdeadqueens.com and www.myspace.com/sixdeadqueens for more information! If you'd like to reserve tickets, please email me at sixdeadqueens@gmail.com!
We're looking forward to presenting this unique and entirely ridiculous take on some of history's most awesome women and we hope you are too!
