I hope everyone else that attended faire this past weekend (Oktoberfest) had as good a time as we did! It was worth the wait! I just regret that I didn't meet more of the members of this board. Oh well, there's always next weekend. I know most of this group thinks that pub sing is where it's at but I gotta tell you we had such a better time at the Dragon Inn on Sunday that we're hoping to repeat the magic next weekend! Hope to see some of you there!

I like Pub Sing because of the Rackhams, the King, Nimblewick and the soon to be filled in Wolgemut. However, in light of having seen the King, hearing the Rackhams, watching Nimblewick, and having the majority of the energy I'm familiar with in Wolgemut gone, perhaps I cn find my way over to catch a Dragon Inn show.
I have not been over there since they had drum sessions at the end of the day.

II know most of this group thinks that pub sing is where it's at but I gotta tell you we had such a better time at the Dragon Inn on Sunday that we're hoping to repeat the magic next weekend! Hope to see some of you there! Dem's fightin' words!!! Seriously, I wish they weren't both at the same time, as I'd like to attend both (I'm assuming you went to Pub Sing on Saturday and had a better time on Sunday, otherwise I'm wondering how you know you had a better time than those of us at Pub SIng ) Pub Sing has a lot going on, and you miss a lot even from the inside. I can never hear what Nymblewyke is saying, and half the time it's what's going on in the center of the pub or behind the musicians that makes something like a Gypsophilia instrumental more entertaining than their normal set. Also, if you're not into sexual innuendo and silly physical comedy, the Pub Sing might not be right for you (though the same can be said for the Rogues' performance , Not That There's Anything Wrong With That®) If the Rackhams and the Pyrates weren't such good improvisational performers, I'd probably be tired of seeing Pub Sing every week (and the same can be said for the Rogues performances). One thing that's hard to explain to a non-rennie is how you can see what would appear to be the same show every week. The answer is that you NEVER know what to expect from these performers - I'm still trying to get over seeing Zack and John Rugby coming up on stage dressed as the King and Queen. Good meeting you this past weekend, btw - hope we'll all get a chance to talk more without being interrupted.

I too wish they weren't at the same time. As they are I choose the Dragon which to me personally it has more of a ceilidh feeling. That could just be because the guys will let me play with them, but there also seems to be fewer people, people get up and dance to the music and it's just a roudy good time. If there comes a time when the Rogues are no longer at the faire I will go to Pub Sing then.

Dem's fightin' words!!! Seriously, I wish they weren't both at the same time, as I'd like to attend both (I'm assuming you went to Pub Sing on Saturday and had a better time on Sunday Exactly what we did. I had been touting PubSing because of reading what you all said about it so we went to that Saturday night and weren't terribly impressed. I missed hearing the bagpipes and being in a more "intimate" setting. There were too many people at the White Hart, the accoustics are lousy, if you aren't up front you miss more than half of what's going on which is probably why it wasn't all that for me as we were hanging out by the wall not at one of the tables. So, I'll be at the Dragon Inn from now on. Just a personal choice, the drums and pipes'll get my vote every time. Plus we met some new people there and we all got "iced" at least once (3 or 4 times for some!) So our new schedule is Rogues at White Hart, O'Danny Girls at White Hart, eat some more, then head over to the Dragon Inn to get our favorite table and hang out til 6. Hope to see all of you this coming weekend. Sounds like the weather will be perfect for Faire! Maybe just cold enough to buy one of those cloaks I've been lusting over!
