Good find Steve. The results suck but you're right, pretty much black and white.

(Reposted from R/F dot com) "Must admit, I've discreetly had a cider or two in the parking lot in the mornings while awaiting the gun...however, as I'm a team player, and recognize that I must start pacing myself now that Scotsman is with us, I'll just be drinking strong, black coffee and taking Flintsone Vitamins in the lot from now on. Huzzah!" ~Amras That being said, I will be tailgating as usual, sans cider (so as not to be in violation of the Kobayashi Maru Scenario, as well as setting a better example for the kiddies), enjoying the usual parade of friends to the gate as I sip coffee and eat a fritter... Qadthane, I still owe you several ICBs (Icey Cold Beverages)... Amras "Old Dog Still Learning Old Tricks" Elfwine

You can have a party without alcohol. This group is just as fun sober as it is with alcohol. Since I won't be drinking this season, I'll be sure to find out if this is indeed true! See you all this weekend...all 3 of us Rowan can't wait to meet you all!

I'm still going to make trifle; if you have never had this dessert to end all deserts, you don't want to miss it! MMM...trifle...What kind are you making? I have a wonderful recipe that has custard, pears, and black raspberry jam in it, oh and the most important ingredient- pound cake liberally sprinkled with sherry...(my husband claims I never use enough).

I usually make the standard kind; lots of seasonal berries, a lemon custard, & pound cake, but I sprinkle Grand Marnier liquor on mine... yummmmmmmmm Your version sounds really good too. We should swap recipes.

I'm still gobs of fun and a hoot to hang out with...... *sigh* The 3 of us will be there in full force, and look out guys. My little one is very chatty now! This should be quite a year for her

For someone who has never had a car (nor my parents, neither,) could you describe what tailgating is like? It sounds like fun.
If I could be there, I'd certainly bring foodstuffs a'plenty!
*Wanders off to find picnic basket, just in case...*

Where do you usually end up? I'm usually there fairly early but haven't seen you. I come in from the church side and end up parked close to the gate at the joust area.

How old is your "little one"? I have a two-year-old (Gwendolyn)who will be coming with us to the festival in two weeks (the 13th). I would love to find another kid for her to play with during the day! Let me know if you will be there that Sunday...

My little girl just turned 2 in June and this will be her 3rd faire season! Which means it will also be her 3rd set of mocs Those feet are growing fast! If you are there this Sat you will get to meet her, she's not shy. She'll be in garb of course. This year her dress actually fits! I'm just stoked we are getting two seasons out of it. Yeah, I was dreading those 90 plus forecasts. I keep saying if it's over 90, I'm wearing cutoffs and my Skum Tee shirt, but I haven't got the courage to do that.
Does anyone know a good weather site that displays humidity? I use Intellicast but they only list humidity if it's going to be notably dry or moist. As we all know, it's that humidity number that's the real kicker.

I've got weather.com's report: Saturday: High 92°F Low 72°F Precip: 30% Max. Humidity: 55% UV Index: 8 Very High Scattered clouds with the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm developing during the afternoon. Hot. High 92F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%. Sunday: High 91°F Low 74°F Precip: 30% Max. Humidity: 64% UV Index: 7 High Partly cloudy, chance of a thunderstorm. Highs in the low 90s and lows in the mid 70s. Dunno how accurate the humidity numbers are but that ought to give some idea. This may be nixing my idea to borrow the lovely burgundy cloak of my roommate's. Though it's not that heavy....hm....

I'm sorry guys, but the trifle is just not going to happen for tomorrow... I'll bring donuts or something else. I've just had a really bad night.
Our cat, Bruno, has neurological problems that give him seizures and it had gotten increasingly worse over the past year. He was in pretty bad shape and my husband and I were discussing having him put to "sleep". Well, tonight we discovered that he was bleeding profusely from the mouth so Josh brought him over to the emergency vet.
We had to have him put down. I know it's for the best, he was suffering and it's just selfish to try and keep him alive with special medications and shots (most of which we had already tried with no success), but it's just such a crappy decision to have to make.
I'll still be at the tailgate tomorrow ready to meet everyone and celebrate the beginning of the season but I may need a couple extra beestings to get me through the day...
Thanks to everyone for listening...

I was devistated when my cat Oliver passed away after 16 years of being my best friend ( I even devoted web pages to his memory at: www.blackfoxdesigns.com/oliverweb ). We need to toast Bruno and send him on to new lives. We've all lost loved ones and sometimes there's no one of bigger loss than our friends on four legs who depend on us for almost everything.

Here's four quick lines I wrote, dedicated to everyone bent upon tomorrow:
Seamstresses spin all your bobbins to rest, Bakers, cool 'pon the night air, Jackanapes, latch-on your mugs to your belts, Tomorrow beginneth the fayre.
(I had to spell it fayre or the censor changed it to festival.)
See you at the Globe!

So, last night I couldn't go to sleep, I was so excited. SO I thought, "I'll just check the board ONE more time and then I can go to sleep!" So I did. And I was still too excited to sleep. (Eventually exhaustion won out?) Anyway, It's now ten till eight and I'm about to be pulling the garb on. See you guys in about an hour!
Yay!

Our cat, Bruno, has neurological problems We had to have him put down So sorry to hear about your cat. Our cat Pouncer died a year and a half ago. They determined it was FIP(feline infectious perotinitis). I was totally unprepared for the effect it would have on me, so I totally understand. Take comfort in that they will always remain in our hearts.
