Gas is almost $4 a gallon.
What's the per-gallon breaking point cost that will preclude you from going to MDRF?
Will you not be attending as often if gas goes to $7 a gallon?
Will you not go at all if it's over $10 a gallon?

I've already paid for my season pass so I'm definitely going at least 5 days. I am, however, likely not to be there as much as last year since a) I'm moving a bit further away and b) I have horseback riding lessons now on Saturday (so unless that changes, I'll be out at the farm most of the day on Saturdays). Of course, even moving slightly further away, I still don't have as far to drive to get there as I know some people do so the gas thing doesn't affect me quite as much. (It does, however, affect my commute to work which is the big reason in moving, so I'm closer to there. And that was really more detail than anybody wanted to know).

Nothing ... nothing could stop me from faire - I will walk if I have to! I just hope the cost of beer doesn't hit the ceiling ... then I may have to make some changes in my life ... like drink Colt 45 or something.

I'm very lucky to only live 25 minutes from MDRF. The main thing that will change is that I will be less likely to taxi everyone out there. Usually my friends meet at my house to "garb up" and I drive us to the festival. I think we'll have to take turns now.
Also, we do have a very comfy pull-out sofa bed in our finished basement. If anyone is coming long distances and wants to go to MDRF on both Saturday and Sunday without renting a room, you have a place to stay if you buy me some cider!!!

In our neck of the woods, the phrase "Penz-on" is appropos here. As in "Penz-on how high the price of gas gets...penz-on how our business is doing and what kinda $$$ we'll have to play with...penz-on what other luxuries we can cut back on and what unplanned expenses might pop up for us..." (You get the picture)...We have our fairever passes, so that's even more incentive to make as many weekends as possible...I know of one weekend we won't be there and one weekend where we MUST be there (or else lose the $$$ that our credit card was charged by an area lodging facility, 'cause the dolt here didn't read the fine print when making the reservations and didn't know 'til too late that we were charged a "non-refundable" fee! YIKES! Caveat emptor for sure!!) We have made the MDRF season one of two primary annual vacation times/destinations for us, so we try to save throughout the year in order to make the trips up.
Can't wait to see all you kind folks SOOOOOOOOOOOON!!

Actually with gas the way it is, if it continues up.. I may have to forego the trip to Atlanta... which I really don't want to do 'cause a pal of mine is playing there that I haven't seen in 4 years and another pal of mine will be there from Italy...
I'm hoping things will work out - and someone with sense and compassion will take over at BP and Exxon...

Funny story, a few weeks back, my mom reminded my grandpa, apparently, when she was a kid, grandpa said when gas hit $0.50, he'd stop driving.LOL

Gas is supposed to be over $2.50 by june this year again with the oil production cuts . The Ap says it will most likely be around the $5.00 mark by late summer just in time for Labor day weekend . If it hits that i wont be going any where that isnt necessary . My car gets 32 miles to the gallon but to fill it at 5 bucks will cost me 145 dollars . In a time when our electric in Maryland is up 110% and food costs go up while you get less ,we are gonna get hit with higher toll costs i fear The Renn Fest would be on my cut list if such a hike goes into effect. last year at a little over $3.00 i could only afford to go twice
