I don't know if I was to early or what but nobody was in the chat room last night when I came for the 8 pm chat. Was it canceled or was I just to early?

[/li][li]Fred's additional character [/quote] It isn't so much an additional character (e.g., he won't be bringing the character to the street) as much as Fred, the actor, being in the main stage play. Every year, the Company of the Rose (the professional acting company that provides characters for the Court and Village) performs several stage shows, including a mainstage play from noon to 1:30 on the Globe. This year, we are doing an adaptation of volume 1 of "Don Quixote", adapted by Mike Field and expertly directed by Tim Shaw. Fred plays Don Quixote in the play, with Brian Reynolds as Sancho, and a wonderful cast (see the web site, www.rennfest.com/entertainment/stage-acts-shows-and-events for details.) Judging by this past weekend's rehearsals, this is going to be great and simply not to be missed---funny, moving, and just lovely. The cast includes many favorites (Casey and Geoff from Fight School, Glenn and Joy Evans, Brian Douglas, Mike Burgtdorf) and some very talented newcomers. The whole cast is listed on the web site. We also will be performing a Camelot Children's Theatre production the first five weekends, and Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" the final four weekends at 3:30 at the Gatehouse Stage. This latter Shakespeare is also directed by Tim Shaw and features Courtney Weber (Trixie from Pub Sing) and John Dickson (Sheriff Middle/John Rugby) as Beatrice and Benedick.

Chat lasted from 8pm till roughly 920pm Since I missed the chat, can anyone recap a couple of items of particular interest? Specifically the following, as I would like to attend some if not all of these... - The Renfest.com Rendezvous on Labor Day weekend
- Black Fox's special "crawls" schedules
- Meeting for group shot on opening day
And for this one, I say booo, moving Robin Hood to the Gatehouse stage once I come into the Faire I rarely make it back to the Gatehouse Stage and my children love the Robin Hood show.....

My girls love his shows also. My concern is mostly the audience. If he gets the same crowds the Gatehouse stage will be absolutely overwhelmed. So how much of his crowds were for him, and how much was stumble uponers who were in the vicinity? Tile will tell, but we will be at the opening St George show on opening day. Probably an easy shot for the kids to get parts.

Actually, I just realized the problem with the new Robin Hood schedule. Previous years, his first show was at 11:30 and I could pick up my first cider of the day right next door. Now I have to figure out: 1) Can I make it to O'Shucks (do they serve Cider?) or down to Valley Meade and back for the show by 10:30. 2) More importantly, is the sun up over the yardarm at 10:30??

Why not greet him and Maid Marian when you first walk in (they will be right there near the fountain), go watch the show at the Gatehouse at 10:30, and then get a cider after the show? You'll have your first cider around 11 that way, which is earlier than in years past, so you won't fall behind.

They are normally our second cast greets after opening cannon and we get our free hugs from Stupina. It is not really falling behind. I allow myself 2 "Daddy Juices" per day, at least for another 5 years until my oldest can drive. It is more that it just felt right watching his shows with a beer or cider in hand. I also almost feel obligated to have one. Robin Hood could always count on me to be the (good natured) brunt of the beer and drinking jokes at the early shows if there was no one else around. I almost feel like I owe it to him.

I am pretty sure either O'Shucks or Valley Meade will have cider, if I am wrong and you hurry you could probably make it to the White Hart and back, if you hurry.
