www.rennfest.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=34:the-latest-news-about-revel-grove&catid=1:general-information&Itemid=2"April, 2010 - The Maryland Renaissance Festival executes an additional lease extension along with a previous lease extension to encompass all the property the Festival occupies with multiple options to operate at its option for up to two more decades during which suitable property for purchase could be identified." Please read all the words, not those that you want to read. The big word in all of this is "option" (mentioned twice) which means the festival can stay and not grow much more beyond its means (due to traffic, parking, and other limitations) or it can take up to two decades to find other SUITABLE property upon which to expand. Think about it. . .if you're a business with an opportunity to grow. . .do you stay where you are or move? Bottom line is that MDRF is a business and if they need to move in the next two decades to grow. .they will. . .it's just smart business. This new, additional "open-ended" lease gives the owners a longer time frame to find such a suitable site, while maintaining the optimum usage of the land they now lease. If you think this announcement means that MDRF won't be moving . . . you're kidding yourself. . . it's just not moving till after 2012. . or 2013. . . or 2014. . .etc. . . At least that's how I interpret the announcement.
