I'm thinking about just breaking down and buying a new bodice as I've been unable to successfully re-create my favorite one and now it's looking a bit worn. Any recommendations?

Are you looking something that is heavily boned, Light or not boned at all
Full torso, mid torso
Or are you looking for more of a corset type?

The last time I posted a bodice question, a lot of folks here recommended Fantasia or Bullseye. Hope this helps!

I loved bullseye bodices about 5 years ago, but about the last year or so, they changed their pattern, and the boning. I still like most of thier products. But they have become over priced. They bodices aren't as good as they were before. I just bought a pirate bodice from Moresca. $125, Light steel LOVE IT! but that's just what I needed. Just my opinion

wait, why am I being sucked into this? And I liked my bullseye but it didn't last more than a season and a half. I just bought a Moresca that is fantastic, and last two weekends borrowed my friends Fantasia which was great as well. Someone should be able to give better advice. Good luck!

Thanks all, I'm just not sure what I want. My favorite is just a basic medium boned bodice. I made it several seasons ago and have altered it twice already. I tried to make a new one using the old as a pattern but it just didn't turn out as I envisioned, not sure where I messed up, it's a mystery!
I'm thinking about going with something a bit different. I'll know it when I see it! For now I've added some trim to the old, reworked the new a bit (hopefully it'll feel better now) I think I'm just being impatient about the "break in period" that one has to go through with something new.

I just bought a Moresca that is fantastic I wanted to try on a Moresca but was pretty much ignored on my B-day weekend. I have a Fantasia and LOVE it! He will really work with you on what fits your body and will actually cut what is already there if it doesn't fit right.

SInce I work in a garb place at faire and I happen to own several (before I even started working there) Have you tried Noblesse Oblige (right beside Bullseye) we have different bodices, they are $175 but they last forever. I just sold one I can't fit into anymore and it was still in perfect shape. We have people that have bodices that have had them for 10+ years and they have never warped & they still are in great shape.
Ours are boned in steel with a Kelvar busk. If you want to come in (I work Sat & Sun 2-7) and try one on we will be more than glad to get you into one.

I am a devoted Moresca shopper, mainly because they make my boyish figure look girlish and they have a variety of shapes for any figure.
But most importantly for me, they add so many beautiful details that I KNOW I would not spend the time to add myself.
I wear a Cadija bodice which stops just under the boobs and is good for someone with no boobs or waist. Dee Dee O'Danny loves the Pirate bodices, they can hold up her meat bags. Dotty is wearing the new Fairy bodice.
But they also have some nice cloth bodices that don't hold you in too much, are very comfortable and less expensive.
But BEWARE, once you go in - - you will start upselling yourself into their higher end really pretty clothing. Bring a friend who can talk you off the ledge.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I fell in love with the Moresca Pirate bodice, but didn't actually buy one yet. Vehicle problems put a crimp in our finances, but I do have their site bookmarked and may just have to get me one before next season. In the meantime, I did make some alterations on the new bodice I had made and it fits so much better now. (I'll get pictures up one of these days...)
Hope to see everyone at CRF in a few weeks. Our MDRF season is over thanks to the US Navy (duty schedule for Doug). I'm so glad we decided to brave the rain for Romance Weekend, it was so worth it!

Just as a follow up to this thread that I started last year, I bought a suede bodice from ? (can't remember the vendor name) last year at CRF but it still wasn't quite what I wanted (though it's going to be perfect for a new upperclass outfit I have planned) so I finally got the Moresca Pirate Bodice that I've been lusting for. Now I wonder why I waited so long. It's perfect!!
Thanks again for all the great advice everyone!
