Hey Jubilee,
I read (on the other board) how you make your chemises. When you join the sleeves to the body, do they just get sewed right to the straight side with no special measuring? The ones I've made before had to be measured and sewed with a diagonal seam joinng to the neckline. I've always had trouble getting those seams matched up just right, plus it seems I had to add a little extra length to the sleeve to make up for a few inches lost in joining. If I'm understanding you correctly, your way sounds much easier. If I'm using less fabric for my sleeves than you, what measurement guidelines do I use? Mine are usually about 12 inches wide(24inches of fabric) Would I just join half the sleeve width to the body with the other half becoming the top neckline? Or am I missing something?

I use about a yard of fabric for each sleeve of the 33" wide muslin. I don't really use measurement guidelines or anything like that. I sew the two 1 1/2 rectangle together at the sides up to about 8-10" from the top. I then leave a similar gap on the sleeves when I sew them into tubes. I match the gaps and sew them together.
