It was a great weekend and one that taught me a lot. Hubby and I are working this year with the Company of St. George. On Saturday, he was made part of the Royal arrival and I was in the back trying to get people to go see the show. I saw Jubilee (I recognized you from your posting of what you would wear) but I could not go over and say hello as I could not break character. I had every intention of taking my break at picture time but got caught in the motions and could not make it. I make it to the White Heart enough to say hi to a few of you. On Sunday, we went for our usual playtron experience. We tried to catch a couple of shows and tried to make it to the photo thing but again we missed you guys. The weather was so different form one day to the other. We ended up going home a bit early partly because of it and partly because we were exhausted.

I forgot you were working there! Sorry! I'll come over and say hi this upcoming weekend. What is your "household name" so I may know for whom to ask Lady Kynston (sp?) for? :-D

Good Morning to All ! I've been "lurking" around for a while now trying to figure out how to get my activation code to work (I truly belong in the Renaissance!). We braved the humidity yesterday and went in full garb. I may re think that next time! We'll see. I was sooo sad that they no longer carry Woodies. I was looking forward to my first Blue Bruise. I hear there is a new mix with the Orange Zima at the wine garden but we never made it that far back. I have to cut this short, but I wanted to tell you all my favorite line of the day. It came from my 10 year old daughter when we passed through the front gate. ........ "I feel like I'm home". That's my girl !!!!!

Opening tail gate was great, and anyone who missed it needs to make the next one, whenever that is! Let me know, the eclairs are easy to get, and the fritter bakery is right by my house...watching Black Fox get dressed (OK, we won't go there)...we have the fastest ticket lines of the 6 fests Ive been to this season...The sheer joy of that opening cannon was something, causing a smile on all our faces that did'nt go away (and, in my case, is still there)...upon passing through the gates, greeted Stupina, who looked especially Grrrrly...Greeted the Dancing Pig staff, their new shoppe looks great!...that first scotch egg and cider, while singing with the Pyrates, was positively spiritual...Finally had my eyes totally awakened by the O'Danny Girls (they really do "bow" well)...I've never noticed it so green before, guess the grass won't last long, though...Cant wait till next weekend...

I be Mistress Ines de Leon, seamstress and hubby is Master Alfonso Mendosa, tailor.

As Master Alphonso Mendoza, Greatest Tailor in ALL of Spain! I walked around in my authentic Tutor garb and no one took a single picture of me when working Saturday. Sunday I was stopped nearly forty times (no exaggeration) and was photographed and then asked “aren’t you hot” but after the first few hours of heat I really do get used to it. The humidity was bad but a couple of bottles of wine sort of helped. After the second bottle I just did not care that I was getting uncomfortable. We can only hope that the future will bring us cool sunny days with a gentle breeze carrying the wonderful smell of wood fired food

We couldn't make it on sunday but saturday was great! Didn't get there until 12:30 but the weather was good and the ale was better. Remember when I swore I woudn't buy another staff again? Well then I walked by High Point Crafts ( on Mary Dale Way near Holy Cow). I'm now the proud owner of an extremely cool vine twisted staff crowned with a 4 point antler. Anyone in the market for one check them out. We didn't get to see many shows since opening weekend is mostly a shopping and browsing day for us. I forgot the group photo (after Black Fox reminded me of it not long before) but we did get a pic together. C'mon saturday!

I had a great time visiting the faire on Saturday. I have missed several years due to illness, but I enjoyed being back again... and I was very honored to be included in the group photo after being out of the loop for so long... Thank you for inviting me back in.

The grass all over the place was quite different, although maybe places had turned to mud by Sunday evening.
Thank you Amras for introducing yourself on Saturday. I'm such a shy one, hopefully this weekend I'll introduce myself a bit more. If nothing else, drag me over.
