I'm having a bit of an issue over here...
The garb I just got a little while ago... Well since I started working out it might be a good idea to try it on - it's really close to being too big - especially the vest/ corset things... Major repairs may have to be made!!!
I mean it's a good thing but dang (not the Lt.)!!!!!
And PS - the Rogues themselves don't make me swoon - but I melt for the bagpipes...

Kendall and I have actually been doing so this a.m. A few things need tweaking (my body is one thing in particular!!...wish I had your problem!)...finding out what looks good with what, realizing that I don't really have to buy a new blouse to go with this new jacket, etc. And in the meantime, it just gets me more and more into "faire" spirit! Kendall and I were just now talking about our warped sense of priorities...how we have 2 rooms still filled with stuff that we never unpacked (books and some old clothes mostly) from when we moved here over 2 years ago...and yet, what are we spending our morning doing? Yoga, coffee, then trying on garb! ha! We figure we'll just shut the doors to those rooms if anyone drops in. haha! Meanwhile, the room where we keep our garb (and it's getting a little cramped in there!) has this delightful smell...and it's a room we frequent during faire season, as we're going in and out of there all the time...and so, of course, the room with that smell reminds us of faire...with the lower humidity this morning...and the trying on of the garb...well, I'm just jonesin' for faire even more! I can't wait!!! Sorry for the ramble...just getting a little homesick for Revel Grove right now. *sing along now*..."AN-tic-i-pation....An-ti-ci-pa-ay-shun is making me wait...."

Okay, so my darling hubby has just come up with a new term for what I believe he and I are both in dire need of right at this moment. A new, therapeutic treatment for those almost completely psychologically and emotionally cripped by severe cases of Maryland Renaissance Festival Withdrawal Syndrome. A groundbreaking therapy that shall forevermore been known as (are ya ready for this?)..."FAIREAPY"....(now if we could only figure out how it works!)

That's why I and my wench/wife/owner get dressed up in garb during the off season and go out to any public venue that looks like it might even possibly have the slightest connection to people running around in weird clothing (which we dubbed "renning around" )

I hear ya on trying to do the "renning around" thing...however, there's NOWHERE near here where that'd be even remotely possible. Hmmm...maybe we need to relocate? ya think?

Hi my name is Jenn and I have reoccurring dreams about faire... only last night's was in DC on the Mall.. Don't ask, I dunno... must have been something in the water before bed...
And I saw Ghost Rider last night... Once they got thru the first 45 mins - it was pretty good... But the first 45 were pretty boring... About a 4 on a scale of 10...

Since Showtime aired The Tudors, mixing garb with a few articles of mundane is high fashion. A bodice with a pair of jeans, a doublet with slacks, knee high garb boots, it is all the rage. For once we are stylish without having to try. I like going out now in my favorite pieces and getting complements about how fashionable I am.

Ok so I went and saw Kamelot last night (ok I know, I know everyone here just went 'who?') and it was the first time I had actually watched them.... I'd been to 3 of their shows but hadn't seen them... Well ya know, you start talking to pals and it's a good ol' time then everyone starts filing out of the main hall and you're like 'dang (not the Lt.) already?'
But anywho, so Kamelot was FREAKIN' amazing - Khan, the singer, is one hell of a performer - his stage mannerisms reminded me so much of Geoff Tate (Queensryche - stay with me people.. hehehehe) and just has a killer voice... I was totally impressed...
But then it starts getting really freakin' hot in the place - I'm sweating like mad by the end of the set... and then I find out amid my Khan 'he's one of my new faves' glow - the guy had the club turn off the A/C so he could sing because, and I quote, "the club was too cold"... One thing Jaxx has NEVER been is too cold... SERIOUSLY?? Does Diva want only green M&Ms in this dressing room too??
the show was absolutely awesome - but finding that out definitely ruined it a bit for me...

My own little thread within a thread... hehehe
As some may know, some of us here have been struck with the sick bug as of late - Sam got nailed Saturday into Sunday (hehehe I said nailed); Tigerlily and Kendall got it before faire even started and they are still trying to shake it...
Well... it's my turn... feels like the flu... but I think it's sinus/ allergy thing - I hope; I'm WAY under the weather.. I mean it's like quarter after 7 on Monday night and I want to go to sleep....
I don't care if I'm on my death bed - I'll be at faire this weekend... My parents are coming up and my brother's returning on Saturday - woo hoo!!!! Warn the guards!!!

A lot of the cast has had it too. I had it my last weekend (and taught my classes the next week mostly by pantomime). Now that I'm planning to go play this weekend I seem to be contracting it again. I shall endeavor to be inspired by your example and go no matter how I feel. (When I worked in Peru they told me Pisco cured stomach ailments and when I was in school in Mexico they told me the same about tequila. Any chance cider cures a cold?)

Just remember...you did NOT catch it from us! I didn't touch that pretzel of yours! Seriously!! Actually, I don't believe we have been contagious for some time. On a real down note, ours started as a sort of allergy thingy...in fact, this is something I used to get every Spring for about 6 years...then it switched over to Autumn...I still haven't figured if it's an allergy, cold, nasty infection, or what! :(You're right, we're still trying to shake it...I'm pretty much over it, but I think Kendall's now moved into more allergy related stuff. Hon, I sure do hope you're feeling better...we MUST meet your folks and you HAVE to be there to meet our "civvie" friends this weekend! I highly recommend...LOTS and LOTS of rest...LOTS and LOTS of herbal tea (personal recommendation is Yogi Tea's Breathe Deep and Peach Detox...very good and good for you!)....lay off the hooch, at least until the weekend! Be good to yourself and do all those comforting things we need to do in order to get well! Best wishes!!

Who knows where this came from - between work and faire and the ragweed popping up everywhere known to God, it's probably some hybrid ragweed virus that will riddle my body with every common ailment out there...
I'm not all too sick to my stomach.. .I'm just wiped out and stuffy and those dang (not the Lt.) flu aches... I played smart and stayed home today - hell I got 42 sick days and Scooby's THRILLED I'm here.. even tho he's sleeping - lots of tea, going to make some soup in a little bit and just lounge and do some reading I think...
It's a good day for an Anita Blake marathon... or to watch my Kamelot DVD... or movies...

Aw man, I feel like I may be getting ready to go down hard with whatever bug this is. I've got that "oh crap, somethings getting ready to start" feeling. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with my head pounding and my left ear wouldn't stop ringing. I'll blame it on my boss, she's been out sick, but had to come in briefly yesterday to deal with a computer problem. Not that it's ever a good time, but I so can't be sick right now.

Lady E ~ sounds like you got hit a little harder than I... I have had headaches but I figured that was just due to everything else aching too...
I hope we all feel back to 100% by Saturday morning when those alarm clocks go off!@!!!
The good thing about being off yesterday - I got tickets for me and my mom to see Carbonleaf again during my Christmas break from work!! 2 1/2 hours of them is awesome!!!! We had a blast last year and plan on spending the entire Saturday down in downtown Annapolis

Ahoy me mateys...Sorry to hear that you are suffering from the pox and scurvy as well. I got to blame my original sickness on my bf, I still can't shake the cough..arrrrr. The weekend sickness I am thinking it may have been food related and not booze related; I am still waking up in the morning with my stomach doing flip flops but luckily no trips to the glory hole. I am just hoping that everything clears up for Pirate weekend as there will be a ton of people coming and that means I will be splicing the mainbrace with mass consumption of grog and grub. Well yo-ho-ho...it will be the pirates life for me this weekend....
