I have just a massive favor to ask...
Does anyone here have any books that cover early Irish, Scottish or Celtic history that they could recommend or perhaps pages could be scanned and emailed to me?? Specifically ones that go into as much depth as possible (as I know information is a wee bit scarce for this part in history) about the rulers, big battles n' such?? Anything info along these lines from the 4th to 15th century would be great... Especially any info about the Picts - HUGE help...
I'm doing a little research and thought I'd ask - thanks a bunch!!!

Jenn I can't think of any right off the bat but something that Google has that most people don't know is a ton of old books that have been scanned in and many are available online for free. When you go to the Google search simply click on more and select books, then do your search. You'll probably find a bunch that have just what you're looking for. Hope this helps.

Jenn, give Loma a yell - she has all kinds of books about Ireland. I am sure she would be happy to share them with you.

I'm doing a little research and thought I'd ask - thanks a bunch!!! What are you looking for exactly? I have a large number of antique books, some that date back to the 1700's, that cover Scottish history in depth. One four volume set on the History of the highlands that I own was printed in 1765 and contains over 4000 pages of history. Depending on what you need it might be worth your while to come over and read through some of them. I'd be a little uneasy about letting them leave the house. You are welcome to look if you want. This is stuff you will never find in your local library. -Eric

I'm having a bit of a time finding stuff on the Picts and want a bit more of a history on Brian Boru than the blurbs I'm finding here or there... I think I'm zeroing in on and around the 9th - 12th century and Irish side of things but the Picts are perking my interest 'cause there's so little known about them, so I feel it necessary to look for that stuff - self toture, I like it.. hehehe...
And I wouldn't let those books leave my house either... That would be freakin nuts!!! I'd love to have books in my house like that - oooo I bet they have that great old book smell... I love that...
