I received this email this morning and wanted to share it with our membership, from fellow member and Fight School professor, Dash Rippington:
Yet again, I am informing people of bad news. On Friday night, Dec. 2nd 2005 at about 8:00 in the evening. My Father (Kerry Jon Severn)passed away from a heart attack. He would have been 62 this month on the 27th. His obituary will be in today's Washington Post Funeral Arrangements were made yesterday afternoon. There will be a viewing from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Gasch's Funeral Home in Hyattsville, MD on Monday December 5th. Interment will hopefully be Tuesday morning at 11 at Cheltenham depending on weather. Regardless of what the weather does... there will be a wake at 1 pm at the Greenbelt American Legion Post 136 on Greenbelt road. I'm sorry this email will be short... but I sit here still just trying to wrap my brain around everything that's happened over the last few days. Please inform anyone that may wish to know, If I've missed them. Sincerely, Casey M. Severn
I know I speak for all of us that we all send our condolences and best of thoughts to Dash at this very rough time in life. . . and to let us know if there's anything we can do.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the incredible outpouring of support in this most difficult time. I am doing as well as could be expected and my mother is an incredible source of energy and good grace. Thank you to all that have asked about us. We will be fine... all it will take is time.
During all the hustle and bustle of trying to get things prepared... my mother and I shared many stories of life and love. We even talked about many things that had nothing to do with Dad. However, one of those things we talked about was the possibility of Fight School performing at the Pyrates for Patriots Charity event. She was so happy when I told her about the organizations that will be contributed to... once the final preparations have been made... she will be informing the Greenbelt American Legion Post 136 of the details in hopes of boosting your ticket sales. (Not that you would need any help, she added)
My father was a 31 year member of the Legion, and was recently awarded an Honarary Life Membership. He was an active member and was always willing to do his part for good charities. My father would have been proud to not only attend but would probably have donated as well. He lived the Legion's credo of "For God and Country."
My father shall be put to rest on Thursday morning with full military honors. I could not be more proud.
Sorry for rambling... but I just wanted to say thank you, on behalf of my mother and I from the bottom of our hearts. Let me know when things start getting complied and I'll let my mother know to get out the word.
Dash (Casey Severn) Rippington
