Anyone who has had contact with beautiful Magpie (Angi) knows what a force of nature she is. Not just your average playtron, Angi is an incredible positive personality that blesses any person she comes in contact with. In truth, it's very difficult to get on her bad side. . . she loves everyone.
I've never told anyone but Angi this, but I leered at her from afar for years. I first was attracted to that porcelin skin, blue eyes, blonde hair, and hot red lips at VARF. . .before finding out she attended our own MDRF.
When FoMDRF.org went "public" in 2004, (we'd been just a handful till then), she was one of the first 10 members. I got the balls up to approach her at MDRF and she greeted me with a huge hug and kiss on the cheek. She held one of my hands the whole time she chatted with me about how excited she was about what I'd done with FoMDRF.
Of course, stroking my ego is the quickest way to my heart but in doing so, I've become an expert at sincerety-detection. My personal bulldarnit detector never went off.
To this day, Angi's shown how much of a friend she is and I count her among my very best friends. If you know Angi, you're her friend.
What's all this diatribe about?
Angi's on her back. . . and not in a good way. If you check your email, you've seen my posting about her operation and how long it's going to take for recovery. Being the Friend of FoMDRF for the 2006 season is not just something slapped on good friends. It's given to folks who are there for all of us. Angi attends, enjoys, and gives to every event we hold and is there for every picture and every meeting. She truly is an MDRF Friend to all of us.
Angi's had a tough time of late. She's had some pretty intensive surgery and it got a bit more complicated than expected. She's OK, as of our most recent chat, but needs time to heal.
Our wish as a group is to send all our healing vibrations or prayers or whatever you believe will help her through this trying time.
I'd like to think all of our friends would help however they can and to give Magpie/Angi the biggest smile of all, knowing how much she means to all of us.
We love you Angi!
