HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Yepper, five years ago a handful of friends and I started this lil' thing and look what's happened! We're HUGE! (to get a handle on our history, head over to: www.friendsofmdrf.org/FOMDRF/history.html and even see what the past web pages looked like!) Because big, long playtron-inspired activities tend to interrupt the routine of MDRF and thus are a bit annoying to those in charge, we're not going to make a huge ta-do about our anniversary. What we'd like to do is just all meet up at The Boar's Head Tavern at 2pm on Saturday AND Sunday (there's no act on the Market Stage according to the MDRF schedule), have a drink or two, call out a few outstanding individuals who've made our history so special and if someone would volunteer to get a cake upon which we can feast for each day, that'd be great. We're meeting both days since not everyone can get there on Saturday. It'll be an outstanding time to meet new folks, old folks, and those hidden folks who are looking to be a part of our group. If you have an MDRF photo album, please bring it and share.

One more thing. . . Cyn doesn't check this board, but I wanted to let everyone know that Sunday, October 1 is her birthday, so make sure you give her a birthday hug and well wishes.
Heck, she lives with me. . . someone should put her up for sainthood! LOL

Are you still in the need for a cake? I can volunteer to make one.... and how the heck would I bring it in?? Will the front gate people allow me to stroll in with a sheet cake or will have have to go 007??

I was under the impression you could bring in food as long as it wasn't alcohol? Might be wrong on that. I can't make a big cake, but I can volunteer for cookies of some sort. Or maybe several sorts, depending on the crowd we think might show up?

Will the front gate people allow me to stroll in with a sheet cake or will have have to go 007?? If you've ever seen the spread set out by Cap'n Chelle and some others at the White Hart you'll understand that bringing in a cake won't be a problem for the front gate folks. Thank you for making the cake! Tomorrow's gonna' be GREAT!

It was great to see everyone on Saturday. Big hugs given and many smooches, cake (thanx Sam), cookies (thanx Anna), and best of all friendship. We got to point out both Amras and Angi who have been incredible friends and thus are the 2005 and 2006 "Friend of Festival" respectively.

It really is better through Angi's straw, isn't it? Great to see all the old and new folks on Saturday, and to finally meet Lauren Julliette...

It really is better through Angi's straw, isn't it? Great to see all the old and new folks on Saturday, and to finally meet Lauren Julliette... She exists?!? Do you have proof? ;D Bugger, it seems like I've got a free-bordering-on-dead period between opening gate and 12:30 or so, and then I've got to be three different places at once until about 3:00 or so. This past weekend 3PM turned into 4PM, as Cercamon was rescheduled to appear a week early, and there was a roguing scheduled for 2PM that got moved to 2:30, but if we can get Radar a date with the hair dryer ..... Besides being quite far behind in placing faces to names, I also missed Ana's cookies. Faire's definitely going by too fast this year.

It was fun running into everyone Saturday ~ by far one of the day's highlights!!! And mucho thanks to Cigar Guy for the FC ~ Sam n' I really enjoyed it!!! And let me tell ya, the looks on people's faces (I'm supposing because a couple gals smokin a big ol fat cigar) were totally freakin' priceless... so much so I almost want to make it a habit.. hehehe
Much more enjoyable than a cig... I wouldn't mind getting something with a bit of sweetness to it...
anywho I hope we plan another group hug before the end of the year!! It was great having all the who's who in one place!!
