I have known about the site and group for years but work and other factors always kept me from registering. I have no idea why this year was different. Maybe its the sad fact I miss Maryland having to move to VA for a new job and knowing that faire will arrive soon I knew being a part of faire even on the weekends I can't always attend seemed like a reasonable compromise.
I am far from a stranger to faire. I have been going on and off since I was little and now I am luring new friends to experience faire for the first time much the way one of my friends lured me into going more then one time in a season. But I also go more now because I know so many of those on cast and I can't pass up a chance to support them in their endeavors besides faire is where you meet the most interesting of people.
Life maybe busy but it is also nice to know there is such a diverse group of people out there supporting our fine faire.

It's really nice to meet you! What part of Virginia are you now living in? I'm on the Eastern Shore, which, I am sure, is nowhere near where you are, as it's nowhere near ANYWHERE else in Virginia! haha! Glad that you came by here and made your introductions! I hope we can meet at faire this season! I understand busy too, but hey, first things first, right? Faire is a MAJOR priority!

Virginia doesn't know it has an Eastern Shore! One INCREDIBLE thing about Virginia's eastern shore that not a lot of people know . . . . . . is that it's the ONLY spot on the East Coast where you can see the sun come up AND set over the water without a coast in site. YOU GUYS ROCK!

I am originally a Howard County, Marylander up until March of 2007 when I became a resident of Centreville, VA and a Multimedia Specialist in Fairfax, VA. But thank you all for the warm welcome and the like. It should be an interesting Faire year since my roommate who has never been to a faire is getting her first taste of the faire I have grown up with. Then of course there will be the quick labor day weekend trip to PARF. Have to see to Damien Blade since finances would not let me see him during Fringe fest. Its scary when the blade swallower pouts because you tell him you can't pay 15 dollars for his show when I saw Stephon do his swami show right before. I can't help my friend had free tickets to that. sheesh but I did promise a PA run and I never fail to go at least one weekend to my favorite faire in college. As for VA's faire I have not gotten to that one yet but it does look intriguing maybe that will be next years venture.

I had no idea Virginia had a faire. Hence our t-shirts... Not sure what your t-shirts say, but I'd be willing to bet it's something like "Yes, Virginia, there IS a faire..." (We had that thing going a few years ago here on the Shore...many, MANY times the Eastern Shore has been left off of state of Virginia maps...so a local fellow (who happened to be originally from somewhere's else) designed a shirt...with a TINY state of Virginia and a HUGE Eastern Shore...and it said (predictably enough)..."Yes, Virginia, there IS an Eastern Shore" (not that any of you needed to know this...I'm just starved for attention) ;D
