Hi, my name is Bethany.....and I am a MDRF addict.
I am addicted to the smell of mulch in the morning.
I am addicted to the magical sound of the bagpipes, dulcimer and fiddle.
I am addicted to the glint off of a knight's flashing sword.
I am addicted to feeling of a well made bodice.
Most importantly, I am addicted to the friends I make/have made that enjoy the Faire with me.
I wish you all a merry meet!

It is the best kind of addiction, is it not, M'lady? Welcome to our little home away from the grove. I am Amras, the local squirrel herder and whisky barrel calibrater. Hope to see you about the place, and frequently! Amras LOL!!! I now see that we have been friends on renspace since almost the birth of that site...small world. Again, welcome!

Hi, my name is Bethany.....and I am a MDRF addict. I am addicted to the friends I make/have made that enjoy the Faire with me. Bethany, you hit upon the point I've always tried to make with folks who don't "get" festival and what it's about. . . even the folks who run the festival or entertain at it or vend at it or are trash rats . . . it's the whole thing. It gives us all an opportunity to meet people that we never would in "reality." There's a lot of folks who used to like me at festival before they learned my politics. . .there's a lot of folks who'd never be my best friends because of the differences in our eco/social "reality." . . .and yet. . . . ALL the folks involved with MDRF provide a place, a spot, an atmosphere that gave us the opportunity to be friends and have something in common with everyone. . . everyone. Amras, Scotsman, The Ravenwolves, and lots of other former military understand what I'm saying. Sometimes we're dropped into something that means the world to us (like serving our country) and we find friends in folks we never would have, yet we had that one thing in common. Those that find our little place here on the web realize "it." That MDRF atmosphere that brings us all-together and lays a common ground for all to grow on each other. Much like those folks onto I put my life into their hands in the military, I now love the friends that I've met here. Everyone who shares a thought, a photo, an idea, a dream, a memory of MDRF makes me smile. . . yeah. . .that's a bit selfish. . . but I bask in that selfishness. . . .c'mon. . .share your MDRF experience with me/us. . . . and let's continue to love this experience called "The Maryland Renaissance Festival". . . . as friends.

Someday, I'll tell the story about how he did ply me with strong spirits and had my cheek tattooed with that Jolly Rodger...
