So basically, it's a musing...not a-musing...but a thought, if you will, about faire. Been finding myself in the last few days feeling overwhelmed, run down, tired, from work and just life in general. It's been very busy here these past months and now we're in oppressive heat mode, as I AM in the South and on the East Coast and hey, it's the end of June. Just yesterday I was thinking of all of the cramming we'll have to be doing in order to get to faire this coming season...trying to cram a 5+ work day into 4 days, loading up the car with garb and suitcases and ren-phenalia, enduring the long drive up to Annapolis and back, spending the following Monday with garb and suitcases and such strewn all over my house, making sure some garb gets washed, some gets to the cleaners, etc. while still trying to cram in the ol' workload...and then doing it all over again the next week...you all know the routine, I am sure...I got quite distressed over my lack of enthusiasm, as I have been looking forward to faire for months now...it REALLY upset me to be feeling so whiny...and then...
...this morning I made the executive decision to take a quick break and look back through my wedding photos, taken at faire last September 10...there it was, beloved Revel Grove, with a hint of autumn in the air...the trees, the paths, the folks in garb...and then I began to see THEM! I saw the beautiful Noir Cyn and the lovely Kyra-wench...Amras, giving us each handmade squirrel-nut pins as wedding presents (thanks!)...the lovely Ana chatting with Kendall and me...my sweet Sam (bluedragonlady) with an endearing smile...my gal Jenn, with a cup of cider in one hand while the other hugged me in congratulations...unforgettable Sinnius Vice who married us, the King who toasted us...and yes, who could forget the Black Fox, decked out in his finest kilt-ery?!! It all started to flood back to me why I just LOVE MDRF, why I love Revel Grove....and why I had the BEST time ever last year, for having met these wonderful, new found friends! It feels like home to me there...and moreso now because of all of you whom Kendall and I have come to know and love through this wonderful group!
Later, we met even more folks, like Scotsman and Lady Guinness, Quadthane, and the ever vivacious Magpie! I hope to meet more and more of you this season. I want my "family" to keep expanding!
So, the whining is stopped...I'm "in the groove" now...I'm ready for the challenge of traveling to and from MDRF for as many weekends as we can make it (we're aiming for 9 this year...we made it to 7 last year! YAY!)...because it is soooo worth it!!! I love you all and just wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you've given to me and Kendall...your friendships mean so much and I'm just...well...so thankful for all of you!
*sorry to get a little sappy...it's just how I am some days!* Love to you all!!
