If you have HBO, you can see the new Kenneth Branagh "As You Like It" a few days before faire starts. This was supposed to be a theatrical release and the trailer looks like they spent some money on it. I do not know why it's going straight to cable, but I read some positive reviews. The setting is 19th century Japan, though the cast is a typical Branagh lot. Here's a press blurb for anybody interested:
Theatre veterans Bryce Dallas Howard, Kevin Kline, Janet McTeer and Alfred Molina, among others, will romp through the Forest of Arden in Kenneth Branagh's new adaptation of William Shakespeare's romantic comedy As You Like It.
As You Like It will be presented by HBO Films on Tuesday, August 21st at 9 PM. "Award-winning director Kenneth Branagh's imaginative and exotic new adaptation of one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays -- a celebration of the enduring power of love in all its many disguises," states HBO's webs
