I got a nice thank you email from Carolyn Spedding, MDRF's Entertainment Director who said "I have just posted info on Last Set at the White Hart in the "what's new" section of the festival webpage. You may want to copy it to friends of mdrf so people know what is going on." You can find it at: www.rennfest.com/renaissance-festival-whatsnew.shtml and I reposted the info below. ********************************************* 8/07/07: Entertainment News - Last set at the White Hart. Many patrons enjoy ending their day with music. In years past, this has included either a performance by The Rogues at the Dragon Inn (which will continue, but this year starting at 6:15pm), or our famous Pub Sing at the White Hart. While we won't be presenting a traditional pub sing each weekend this season, we will be offering fabulous music by bands you know and love. So grab your favorite beverage and enjoy music at 6pm at the White Hart. Schedule: August 25th & 26th: Gypsophilia September 1st, 2nd, & 3rd: Cercamon September 8th & 9th: Celtic Pub Sing! Featuring your hosts, Jack Rackham, Tim "The Hooligan" O'Kane, ably assisted by Zach Rackham, & Middle. Featuring the house band, The Pyrates Royale. September 15th & 16th : TBA September 22nd & 23rd: A Pirate Pub Sing, hosted by Captain Fletcher Moon and featuring The Pyrates Royale. September 29th & 30th: TBA October 6th & 7th: Wolgemut October 13th & 14th: Wolgemut October 20th & 21st: Closing Weekend Pub Sing hosted by Jack Rackham, and featuring the usual suspects!

Can I just tell you how pissed I am about this??? Why the change? Why are they not doing a pubsing every night to end the day? I looked forward to that every time I went to the fest for the past three years!! In fact, there were times that I just went to Crownsville at around 4:30-5 PM to make sure I could make it to pubsing if I couldn't be at Revel Grove all day long. I like the Pyrates to end the day for me.... I want to sing along!!! I'm so upset right now I could cry.

I'm a bit torn on this myself.. Not that I attended PubSing, but I was certain my day would end at the Dragon no if's ands or buts - and I know there are some of those I chat with at faire (or FESTIVAL ;D ) that will be torn a couple times at the end of this season on where exactly to go...
I'm not against it but I'm a bit like 'seriously? No really you're kidding right??'

Well except not being able to sing all of my favorite songs each night and then getting my top ten list it isn't too bad. I think we can still convince Fletcher to sing a song or two, even if it's over at the tent.

I know!!
Okay, I am a bit calmer today about this. I do enjoy a lot of the performers they have on the list ending the day so it's not a total loss. Also, there have been lots of shows that I have missed because I was trying to get to pubsing in enough time to get a cider and a seat before it got too crowded.
Hey, I can always find those SDWs to hang with and we can all be confused together, right???

We normally hang out at the Dragon for the Rogue's closing number. There is nothing like dancing around and closing out the night on an upswing. Of course I think the reason why I like the Dragon so much was the fact that it wasn't as big as a draw as PubSing but last year there seemed to be a ton of people there and it was a bit frustrating to have to fight for the spot that I have been so used to occupying for the past couple of years. Of course the Festival ( ;D) seems to be getting larger and larger each year. I know by the end of the season both Jenn and I were like where did all of these people come from? So just following the whooping and yelling at the end of the evening and you'll know where we are....

Yeah I'm with my LOVELY Lass Sam on this one... Civies were in OUR spot by the tree and some of 'em even looked liked they just didn't want to be there... It was very disheartening... I mean try not to mash any feet while doing Reels!!! hehehe
Hopefully the season will begin and last a couple weekends like last year, with all the people we love, enough people to satisfy the vendors but by 6pm many were heading to their cars for the ride home while the rest of us are hoopin' it up with the likes of the Rogues!!!
If at all possibly my wonderful Partner in Crime - I do think we should check out our Entourage members at the Hart at least once during Labor Day weekend

Kendall and I, unfortunately, never made it to PubSing...I can't explain what happened that first year (although we only attended festival twice that year) and the next year I think we never stuck around that late in the day, considering we were either too tired or had too far a drive (or the combination of the two) from the whole day to make it to the end of the festival day. I think one year (year before last, maybe, before meeting folks to hang with at the White Hart) we were going to attend pubsing, but it was some time off and we didn't feel like hanging around and waiting. Last year, we did manage to hit the Dragon Inn for one close of festival day, with the Rogues...we had a dandy time (sorry Sam and Jenn, but I guess we were 2 of the newbies who were crowding in there) and danced our fool arses off!
I am sorry that we didn't get to experience pubsing...this'll be something that the "old heads" here will be able to look back upon as something that they remember fondly, whereas the rest of us will have to go "Hmmm, I wish I'd experienced it."

Oh no luv, you and Kendall are NOT Civies - aka the non-garbed - not by a LONG shot... Besides, we couldn't pull you two off the dance floor and that belongs to EVERYONE!!!!
I swear there's a little pirate in me 'cause I always want to lay ownership to Sam's n' my favorite spots at faire

This may all be "old news" that is posted in one place or another around the site, but I'll be dang (not the Lt.)ed if I can findit, and I can't find a better forum/section to post this:
1) If you notice the listing for the band members of the Rogues, you'll see that Jeremy is not returning. He is also no longer on the front page of their web site. From what I heard at PARF, he had to drop out due to family reasons.
2) You'll also see that Claudia (the female violinist/T'Pol lookalike) will not be with Gypsophilia at MDRF this season. I talked to her at PARF and found out that she also had to forego this season due to family reasons, and that there'll be a really good clarinet player with the band. If you'd like to see her, she'll be performing at PARF with the Arcona Reel Band for the next few weekends.

Yeah, this is the only bad part about being such MDRF freak... You get to know everyone after going so often that when someone has to leave the cast or a musician has to bow out for a season it's so sad. We all get to know these people and love them and want to see them every weekend!!

Total shocker about Jeremy. I hope that everything works out with his family issues. I agree with Jenn, he was the best to just hang out with and enjoy a beverage and a conversation; some of the other guys I think have a tendency to think that you are just talking with them to get in their kilts ;D. I notice that the person replacing Jeremy is from Wolgemut; so is he still playing with Wolgemut and going back and forth or is he a former member of the group. I am totally confused Change is always sad in a way but I guess change must happen; let us hope that it is for the best...I know the Rogues have gone though many changes over the years and I have only really known the group for the past 3-4 years so I guess this is commonplace with them....

I am totally confused If you look at the Wolgemut website ( www.wolgemut.net/band.html,) you'll see that he is not listed with the current band (which members specifically will be at MDRF remains to be seen.) Also, Wolgemut and the Rogues play at the same time a couple of times during the day, so being in both places at the same time, quantum mechanics aside, would be somewhat problematic.
