{"Hi Dr Nick!"}Oops, sorry, The Simpson's seem to pop out at the strangest of times... For anyone who saw taylorl76's hello post, that would be I she has spread the addiction to. I have in turn spread the message of Ren to my sister-in-law, who will be joining us for a few visits to Revel Grove this season. My husband is not into RenFest, but he has promised to attend with us 1 time this year. He has also promised to wear a kilt, but seems to be back peddling on that one with some frequency, so we'll see how that goes... Personally, I maintain he is not yet addicted only because he has never been and hope a visit this year remedies that... I can hope, I just won't hold my breath... 2008 will be my 3rd year attending MDRF. I have been busy sewing fancy new wardrobes for Lady Stephanie, Lady Taylor and myself for the upcoming revelry. This has kept me very busy these last few months (2 new complete ensembles a piece is not a small commission!), so I have just gotten around to joining up here, although some of you may have seen me on the r/f forums- I generally hang out in the sewing room. I am looking forward to turning all my new online acquaintances in real life friends! See you all at Revel Grove in 82 days!!!

Welcome, welcome! Back in 2004, my (then) fiance and (now) husband had never even heard of a renaissance festival. But, being of an open-minded disposition, he said, "Well, let's give it a shot." I promised him if he didn't like it, he'd not have to go back. I'd been to MDRF only once and then it had been over 10 years since I'd gone, had never worn period garb, and my ex (who was my current hubby at the time) hated it! It was a shot in the dark, with me hoping against hope that my new guy would appreciate it as much as I did. But, I didn't hold out a lot of hope.
As it turned out, we went in street clothes on Day 1...by Day 2, hubby and I were buying our first garb items. He fell in love with it and I couldn't have been more thrilled. We wound up marrying there in September of '06 and in the meantime, we've come to know and love all of the fine folks you'll find here on FoMDRF, as well as other friendly and familiar faces that wander throughout and vend at Revel Grove. I wish you the same luck I had that your hubby will be won over by the magic of MDRF. I only tell you my story to give you hope, 'cause I know how much it meant to me that my love and I were digging the same scene. The folks here are great and we all look forward to meeting you this upcoming season! So welcome, welcome, welcome!

I'll take it! I was at VARF on 5/31, I know some of you were probably there, but oddly enough, I'm not likely to just walk up to someone and introduce myself... I'll be there again 6/15, most likely, so seriously, just get in my way and say hello! I'm very personable once someone says hello...

Just go stand by the bar, and you'll be getting in their way And if you don't say anything to me, well, you have no excuse. I'm standing right at the front gate accosting people, so you have to pretty much hit one of my breaks to miss me. My name's also on the bloody schedule, so you can just sit down at one of my shows, and after it's over, I can drag you to meet some of the other people. For that matter, I'm sure the other people will be glad to drag you to meet everybody else.

Welcome to the boards Mellingera! I think you'll find this a wonderful crew once you get to know us! If my memory serves me correctly, perhaps we shall enjoy a Hack and Slash show together one day. Again, welcome!

Welcome! I THOUGH I saw you at VARF but wasn't sure and the fact that I'm on cast there I didn't have time to stop and chat at that moment. Please stop by court and say hi. I'm easy to spot. I'm the tall bald guy in the VERY tall red and gold hat! See you this Sunday!

Though I wasn't on the schedule that day, I was near the front gate accosting people when you came by. Sorry I didn't have time to introduce you to much of anybody, though I presume you didn't have a hard time finding Clan McCrack (as missing them is would be akin to walking along the National Mall in DC and missing the Washington Monument ) Unfortunately, I was too busy working gate, entertaining food lines, recovering from the heat or coughing my lungs up from my nascent case of bronchitis to be much of a tour guide.
