The Cast List for 2008 (including the Court, Village, and Street Acts) has been posted on the web site. If you know your English history, especially around 1541 (this year's year), you'll recognize these Court folk---it promises to be quite a soap opera year in the Court plays. I can't wait to see what happens!

The Cast List for 2008 (including the Court, Village, and Street Acts) has been posted on the web site. Yes, in chatting with HRH the other night (working on the article for Faire Magazine), he said something in passing that outside of himself and a few other actors, almost everyone has a new character to play this year. It's hard to believe that you wonderful actors can put the whole thing together including dancing, street work, drama, comedy, and information (such as "pardon me, where's the nearest privvy?"). That's a ton of stuff to have to have a handle on. You folks earn every dollar of yer stipend and more respect than I could show you. Will a HUZZAHH and loud applause work?

The Cast List, Musicians, Street acts and shows, schedule, etc. everything is up at the web site www.rennfest.com. So there may still be a few bugs in the system, but they are being ironed out and the pages are being revised. Just be patient, and enjoy anticipating all of the merriment and drama promised within.

Believe me, a hearty huzzah, applause, and genuine laughter (when appropriate, of course) are breath, food and wine to an actor.
Thanks for the nourishment!

I'm a big fan of the plotlines, so I follow the cast line-up from season to season. Six have left, and there are six new faces, so no real attrition. Gone are Matt Folker, Aaron Pross, James Gilbert, Anne Frates, Jennifer Goldman and Michael Winchester. We knew about Anne and this is Michael's second leave of absence, so maybe he'll be back. I enjoyed the first three gents in 2007's As You Like It, and was hoping to see them back. It's always fun to see new cast members develop (or not) over the years.
Nothing about a village plotline, I assume there will be one.
Gigi is back, according to the website. Hope that's not a typo. Lurk is gone, apparently. After playing the entire 2007 season, Cercamon has only eight days this year. They are not listed on the schedule PDF, I wonder where in the village they'll be playing. Gypsophilia is gone. E Muzeki retired, we knew that. Erstwhile Pyrate Peg's group Keltish will appear for one weekend. No Stupina show this year. Chainsaw guy gone. Thomas Tallis takes over full duties at the pipe organ this year.
Don Juan and Miguel are here. I saw them at Oswego in 2000, they are huge on the circuit. Stuck on the Serengeti Stage, er Market Stage. Hope those vines have grown enough to supply some shade.
There is nothing about Owain Phyfe on the official site. That worried me a bit, but I checked his schedule at night watch recording and MDRF is on it, last two weekends, just as Wolgemut said.
Tom Crowl returns as...a ventriloquist. I've always wondered why there weren't more vents than Ded Bob, faires being the new vaudeville and all.
Well, that's it from Entertainment To-Knight.
This is a x-post by me, hope that's okay.

As to plot...I have been told it is an election year...can't wait for this one. Campaigning will be fun to watch. (I believe it is for the post of the sheriff)

It is official. The election is for the Mayor. From the site:
Meanwhile, Felonious Fingers, former moat contractor, has discovered that Mayor Wetherby's term of office is to expire at sunset that day. Sheriff Middle J. Middle decides he would like the position of Mayor, and they both agree to let the people decide. Felonious has now found a new calling - campaign manager for Middle J. Middle.
My kids will be heartbroken if Mayor Wetherby does not get re-elected. He amazed them by remembering the names of their shoulder unicorn puppets 2 weeks after they told him last season. But then again, a good politician should be able to do that.

But then again, a good politician should be able to do that. Indeed! And we would most assuredly encourage all residents and visitors to Revel Grove to aid us in our efforts to re-elect my cousin, Mayor Hugh Wetherby. By the by, I do believe that his able assistant, Juliet, is the one who recalls the names of all shoulder unicorns. And do be sure to test him/them again this season.
