Greetings... I have been a reader/lurker of this site off and on since I first learned of it last year after the Ren Awards lists were made public and I saw it listed. Great Site and great people...
The wife and I have been lovers of the Maryland Faire since we first stepped through the gates during the 2000 season. We missed the next several seasons due to work etc, but were able to again go in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. We made the recent Scottish Celebration Weekend and plan to return for the last weekend of the faire. Plans for next year include hopefully four or more weekends at the faire. Not bad for a five hour drive. We have ventured south this spring to the Ga. Ren Faire, and while a nice faire, it is not Maryland. Revel Grove will always be our favorite place to be.
I had the honor of meeting the legend, Sir Black Fox at the Hampton Blackbeard Festival, and purchased a copy of his wonderful publication, calling it a mere magazine seems an injustice. I can not wait to see what he does for the Faire Publication. Only after looking through some of Sir Black Fox's online photo galleries did I realize I spoke to him at the White Hart last year while he was Garbed as a Klingon Pirate. I look forward to shaking his hand again.
I will not be in garb at faire this year, but plan on it next year. I have been online shopping looking for replacements to some of my old garb. So, mundane for one more trip....
Everyone take care and enjoy the faire for me until I can return.
Brian
