Greetings, friends! I just wanted to check in and say 'hello' and a bit of a 'farewell' to those whom I know and love here. (Don't worry, the 'farewell' is just temporary...I'm like gum in your hair...you can't get rid of me easily.)
First, I would like to offer my condolences to Lady Glorianna on the passing of Sir Dragon/Ron. I never met the gentleman (or Lady Glorianna, for that matter), but I realize that they were/ARE both loved here and by many. I hope that your grief lessens with the passage of time. Honoring Sir Dragon with Friend of the Year is quite appropriate, if you ask me. Huzzah!
Secondly, I did thankfully get to see a few friends at faire on this last weekend of the 2008 season, but not enough. I have been under the weather all this past week and I really pushed myself to make it out to faire at all this weekend. Thankfully, Kendall and I were blessed to be able to make the trip and to spend some time with wonderful Scotsman and Loma, Sir Dante and lovely Joanne, Amras, Autumn (aka "Scotsman's daughter"), Mathemactor, and my girls Sam 'n' Jennifer (for just a fleeting moment yesterday). Sadly, I did not get to see Noir Cyn at all this past weekend and I only caught a glimpse of Black Fox as he scurried past Kendall and me in hot pursuit of god only knows what on Saturday. ;D We were only at faire yesterday for about 4 hours, which was probably 4 hours more than I shoulda been there and was about the same length of time we were there on Saturday. It killed me not to be able to stay longer, what with the weather turning absolutely PERFECT (finally!) for Revel Grove, but what can ya do?
There were many other fine folks whom I did not get to see this past weekend and to say a final farewell 'til next season to and to share that one last hug. As we don't live anywhere near the Northern Va./D.C./Baltimore/Annapolis area, we know we won't see any of our "faire" friends 'til next year and that makes us both very sad and our farewells all that much more important. Those of you whom I've had the pleasure to meet through faire but didn't get to see this past weekend, please know that you're greatly missed and will be throughout this upcoming year.
On another note...congrats to Sam aka Bluedragonlady on her official nuptials to her beloved Ken. I was sorry to not be able to make it to their wedding. I wish them both many, many years of happiness together. As I type this, I imagine they're heading off to their honeymoon. Huzzah and a cup raised to them both!!
MDRF was much better for Kendall and I this year than the 2007 season, greatly due to the weather being a little more bearable...and we had no icky parking lot confrontations this year! YAY!
I hope that everyone who reads this has a most wonderful "off season"...I wish you all health and happiness and prosperity. I consider you all wonderful treasures that I've been most fortunate to stumble upon. You've added great richness to my life, as has MDRF. Blessings to you all!
