Hannah may be putting in an appearance on the first day of Irish Weekend. She will be touring the Bahamas and East Coast all week. She doesn't know if she'll quite have the energy, but she is going to try to play a few sets throughout the Village on Saturday. According to NOAA (as of September 2):
Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 83. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67.
Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 85.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.

Actually... I think a nice shower would make the festival weather appropriate! And I LOVE this, mainly because it makes the mundane doofy people stick around at home.
Also... a cool off would be good. I say huzzah!

Also... a cool off would be good. I say huzzah! Perhaps, but those folks also pay to enter and buy lots of food and drink. And that is what finances even more music and variety acts and cast and such, not to mention essential improvements to the site, such as individual dressing rooms with flush toilets for the cast.

I'm holding out hope I'll be able to be there both days this weekend...
My great aunt isn't doing very well - she's 93 and just before faire with everything else that was happening, we found out she's got lung cancer (the good thing is, the tumors are so small they are going to try to treat them with chemo n' zap 'em away)...
Well she had an issue with her heart on Friday... One of the highly unintelligent members of my family didn't tell anyone until Monday (she likes to pull the 'but I was the only one there for her, where were you??' crap) and she would've been released today but her heart was racing so they are keeping her until they can get her home care or in an assisted living facility... But with plans so unknown right now, we don't know if we'll get to see her this weekend or not...
anyway... sorry to be a bummer... I've always wanted to experience faire in the rain - what better wish for me to experience on my weekend (they don't call me Irish for nothin'!!)

Rainy Faire is lovely. Well, except for the mud pits - but that makes it a more exciting obstacle course!
I hope your great Aunt's condition improves Jenn.

I am looking forward to the rainy day, of course I know the vendors probably aren't. So I will definitely be there on Saturday, Sunday is looking less feasible. I just found out last night that my grand-father is having some health issues as well, he is 92 and has been having issues with vertigo and so the plan is to go and see him on Sunday. There seems to be a lot of health issues with close relatives this season for many folks. Hopefully Hanna will blow away all of the tragedy that has been going on over the past couple of weeks!!

Awwwwww. Jenn, I'm sorry to hear about your aunt. My thoughts are with your family... And John, I would never wish ill luck on the faire and buy my pass faithfully every season. But some of my best memories of faire have been on yucky days. While I know it's not great in general- I plan on doing lots of shopping tomorrow in the mud So that makes up for it!

I love rainy days in Revel Grove. There is no way that I would miss tomorrow!! I will most assuredly be there. And a little bit of rain, lightning, wind, perhaps hail----none of that is going to stop me from walking throughout the Village, giving out philosophers' stones, playing with our guests, performing in our little dramas, etc. etc.

Congrats to you and your son and wish him good luck in basic. I remember when my husband (boyfriend at the time) left for the Army. It was one of the hardest days of my life, but the best decision he ever made. They leave boys and come back men!!!
