Hi all,
Dunno if this is the right section to post this, but I am going to chance it anyways?
As many of you know and have commented on when you wander by the booth, Art of theWood has a really cool new item, that being functional American oak barrels that can actually be used for aging spirits, creating unique flavours, being used as Renn canteens. (that being the dog barrels.) etc...
The people that I work with to get these barrels is 1000 Oaks Barrel Co. They were actually guest vendors on week 2. And they are getting popular on the Renaissance circuit.
So why all this babble? Because 1000 Oaks has been offered to do some time at the Pa. Renn Festival this year and are looking for Renn savvy people who might be interested in migrating North for a few weekends and selling their product. I can not supply anyone from my booth this year, so they are on a hunt for help.
Pro's: You will be selling functional spirit barrels at a Renn Fest, based at a winery. The money is going to be good! (They cleaned up at MD. on week 2.)
Con's: You will probably miss a couple of weekends at this faire that we all call home.
So if anyone is interested, or know of anyone who might be interested, feel free to call the Bryan from 1000 Oaks at (703) 885-1483.
And if you are curious about the barrels becuase you have not seen them, stop by the booth and check them out. Or ask Fletcher Moone about them, he has been using a few to age spirits for a few years now.
'Nuff babble, c Yarrr all on saturday.

A friend of mine bought one and used it to age some no-name rail brand of rum into a golden brown concoction that elicited oohs and ahhs from all concerned last year.
